To facilitate interactions between Members of the NRO and employees or trade unions.

Lobby government and other authorities and stakeholders to introduce measures which support and promote the Industry and ensure the sustainability and growth of the industry through the formulation of specific strategies and priorities.

Promote the interests of all of its Members and the Industry as a whole.
|
| 4. |
Promote, support or oppose as may be deemed expedient, any proposed legislative or other measures affecting the interests of the Members or the Industry. Members will as a result be advised on legislative compliance affecting the sector.

When required, co operate with employer organisations and/or trade unions or any bargaining council or conciliation board which are in existence or which may be established to deal with matters which affect the Members or the Industry.

Seek direct representation on all government forums which directly affect the Members or the Industry.
|
| 7. |
Encourage and promote ethical, legal and environmental compliant business practices by all its Members.
|
| 8. |
Encourage itself and through its Members the establishment of new business entities within the Industry which are reflective of the demographics of South Africa.
|
| 9. |
Encourage itself and through its Members further downstream beneficiation activities which will yield benefits to the Industry, employees and the country as a whole.

| 10. |
Create a forum through which all Members can collectively voice and address micro and macro issues of common interest and concern.
